The Library
The library at the Milestone SABIS® Academy is centrally located and contains books selected according to reading
grade levels. The library program in effect throughout the school is the Accelerated Reading Program whereby students
are provided with books on their reading level. The focus of the Accelerated Reading Program is to bring students to
their reading grade level and to increase comprehension in preparation for standardized tests. Reference books
and audio-visual materials are housed in the library and are available to both teachers and students.
The Computer Curriculum
The computer curriculum at Milestone SABIS® Academy of New Orleans (MSANO) is outstanding. The curriculum's breadth and
depth ranges from making a student new to computers comfortable to challenging even the most experienced student on a computer.
Experiential lessons allow students to internalize how their actions (inputs) affect the computer.
Specifically, the lower school (K-4) curriculum focuses on the parts of the computer, using the computer, computer programs or applications and the Internet the correct way, safely and responsibly. The upper school (5-8) curriculum focuses on computer programs that will aid the older student matriculating through school accomplish assignments as well as develop entry level skills on business programs like MS EXCEL, MS POWERPOINT, MS ACCESS and much more.
